  • Kentang Mustofa is an iconic Indonesian side dish made from potato that is grated or cut into juilenne, and then cooked with sambal balado. Kentang Mustofa also an Eid Mubarak food, where majority of muslim household will serve it in the Holy Day of Ramadhan. Despite the name “Mustofa” sounds like middle eastern name, Kentang Mustofa is not at all originated from Middle East. It is believed that Kentang Mustofa originated from Indonesia First President’s cook, named Opo Mustofa. When Opo Mustofa working as cook for Ir. Soekarno, he felt that it will be a waste to not utilize the left-over potato in the kitchen. So he decided to make something out of it and serve it as one of President’s meal. One day, this particular potato dish is missing from the meal set, and because there isn’t any settled or official name for the dish, the President asked “Where Mustofa’s Potato ?”. Hence, the dish name become Kentang Mustofa
  • Ali Agrem, is a brown ring-shaped cake, very similar to how donut looks like but without any topping. Ali Agrem is a well-known snack in Java Island, and is a traditional Sundanese delicacy. The crunchy texture combined with sweet palm-sugar taste, makes Ali Agrem loved by most Indonesian and making it a great choice to have while drinking hot tea or coffee in cold, rainy days.
  • Bugis, is a traditional Indonesian cake, originated from South Sulawesi. The name of the cake itself related to Indonesian Ethnic group with the same name which is Bugis. It is suggested that Bugis people having this cake as their delicacy, hence the cake name is the same with the ethnic group. Bugis cake itself made from glutinous rice (known as Ketan) flour as the skin, and then filled with grated coconut flesh and sweetened with palm sugar. The soft texture of Bugis and its natural sweet taste, made it a delicacy that most Indonesians love.
  • Seblak, is a traditional Indonesian food that originated and commonly found in West Java. A Sundanese savoury and spicy dish, made from wet crackers and cooked with various protein sources such as egg, beef or seafood broth.
