  • Rempeyek, a traditional Javanese cracker, made from rice-flour dough with peanuts or shrimp as topping. Rempeyek usually served as complimentary dish in various restaurants in Java, along with main dish. But most of Indonesian also having Rempeyek as snack in general, or adding it into their daily food.
  • Rengginang, is also a traditional Javanese cracker that consumed or served in the same manner as Rempeyek. However, Rengginang is made from glutinous sticky-rice (or “Beras Ketan”) , seasoned with spices, made into flat and round shape, and then sun-dried. 
  • Dodol, is a sweet toffee-like sugar palm-based confection commonly found in Southeast Asia and well-known in Indonesia. Dodol is made from coconut milk, jaggery, and rice flour, and is sticky, thick, and sweet. The cooking process would reduce the contents up to half as the liquid evaporates. There are various version of Dodol depending on which region of Indonesia you are in, and in West Java, Dodol Garut stands out than the rest.
