Rempeyek, a traditional Javanese cracker, made from rice-flour dough with peanuts or shrimp as topping. Rempeyek usually served as complimentary dish in various restaurants in Java, along with main dish. But most of Indonesian also having Rempeyek as snack in general, or adding it into their daily food.
Lumpia, is one of many various types of spring rolls in Indonesian cuisine. Lumpia is made of thin paper-like or crepe-like pastry skin called “lumpia wrapper” enveloping savory or sweet fillings. It is often served as an appetizer or snack, and might be served deep-fried or fresh (unfried). Lumpia are Indonesian and Filipino adaptations of the Fujianese rùnbǐng and Teochew popiah, usually consumed during Qingming Festival, a Chinese cultural event. Despite being originally a Chinese cuisine, lumpia evolved into many version depending on which region of Indonesia it was made. There is Lumpia Jakarta, Lumpia Bogor, the famous Lumpia Semarang, Lumpia Bandung, Lumpia Medan, etc. Each version of Lumpia have their own distinct features, such as Lumpia Jakarta is mostly sold as fritter snack that meant to be consumed daily, so most of ingredients and fills are those that you can buy easily in the market. However, Lumpia Bandung is vastly different than Lumpia Jakarta, since its not being deep-fried and served in spring-roll form. Lumpia Bandung also known as Lumpia Basah, the lumpia skin is spread wide, topped with fillings, stacked and folded square like an envelope.
Comring and Moring, are crackers that mainly made from tapioca flour / starch. These crackers are usually came with strong chilly / spicy flavor, but there are also the non-spicy one. Their texture are usually crunchy, but some of them might have a harder texture than other crackers so it might be challenging to chew.
